Great to see the community grow into the thousands!
One of the members has suggested doing "rotating Group Officers", so I thought I'd check and see who was interested. Seemed like a cool idea. We'll keep the numbers down to three or four, so if you'd like to be included drop me a message.
What do officers do?
- Help to manage the growth of the VC4Africa community. This includes the network on
LinkedIn,
Ning,
Facebook and
Twitter.
- Assist members (mostly a focus on our entrepreneurs) to make use of the community and tools available. i.e. help promote projects with great potential.
- Work to give the community direction / add to its content and promotion.
- Monitor content and help to delete any spam or unwanted messages.

Specialty: I contacted Ed to see if he could help in managing the group on Facebook. This is a new addition to the VC4Africa 'Ecosphere.' However, given the platforms popularity in Africa, I believe this group has a lot of growth potential. There are 60,000 users in Uganda alone and the FB Group could serve as a valuable tool for linking with local entrepreneurs. Hope to work with Ed on building this out further!

Specialty: Peter has offered to help manage and grow the VC4Africa Twitter account. As you know, the Twitter account builds on the VC4Africa RSS feed. Twitter has quickly grown to over 2000 followers and become the community’s third source of traffic. Needless to say, there is a lot of growth potential in this system. I look forward to working with Peter, when he gets back from a needed vacation, to developing this further.
