Bela Vista-Rice Project to Produce 40,000 Tons of Rice in Mozambique
A consortium formed by the Libya Africa Investment Portfolio (LAP) and the Mozambican company Ubuntu SA have launched a $30 million project to raise rice production in the southern province of Maputo, reports the official Mozambique News Agency on Saturday.

The “Bela Vista-Rice Project” will to be implemented within the next five years and initially rice will be grown in an area of nine hectares, with an expected annual harvest of 40,000 tons of rice.

Of this amount, $10 million will be used to build a new processing plant and storage silos. The project is due to start by the end of this month.

Hi there,
I would be grateful if anybody could steer me in the right direction, Moz, has serious leisure potential, several resorts are going up already. We have an opportunity for a decompression chamber to be moved there and are looking for a location this chamber could be set up. The only ones currently on the East Coast of Africa are located in Zanzibar and Durban, South Africa.For any dive related business this is a fantastic USP.Please let me know who could be interested please.With kind regards, Bernard

Brazil plan to invest millions in Mozambique
Brazil has also pledged to invest in the building of a 1,000-kilometre north-south power line, linking hydro-electric, coal- and gas-fired power stations in central and northern Mozambique with the main consuming areas in the south. At present, Mozambique imports most of its power from neighbouring South Africa.
