Mali/China Trade: Dioncounda Diawara opens a liaison office in Bamako
..........Indeed, in recent years they have turned towards Asian countries, this has not been without problems in the procurement and delivery of goods. The GBCI therefore offers an opportunity for businessmen from Mali to locally buy more products from China such as motorcycles, tiles, tools ...

Also it will play a facilitating role between the national economic operators and their counterparts in China. For this, our businessmen will have all the necessary information on China and establish contacts with Chinese operators.

It must be recalled that the same Djoncounda Traore is currently working on the project to create a bank of Malians Abroad, which has a capital of 100 billion FCFA(USD$207Million).

What we may need in order to ensure faster growth of investments in Africa would be an enabling environment both by Governments and local bodies Guaranteeing investors that they have checked fund applicants and believethe applications are genuine enough. Are there bodies doing that in West africa. I am saying so because Riverbank is a financier and would be willing to lend small time to small projects as long as the risk is underwritten. Is there anyone interested in doing that?
