Ethiopia - One of the Fastest Growing Economies in the World

The Economist predicts Ethiopia’s economy will grow by 7 per cent in 2010. It also estimates inflation will be reduced by 12 per cent.

According to information posted in its website, it also said Ethiopia has become five top fastest growing economies in the world.

The magazine predicts Qatar to top the fastest growing economies in the world with a GDP growth of 24.5per cent followed by China, Congo (Brazzaville), Turkmenistan and Ethiopia.

Africa's Tallest dam opens in Ethiopia

Ethiopia opened Africa's tallest dam on Saturday that will produce 300 MW of hydropower when it reaches full capacity. The dam which was built on Tekeze river costs $356 million and was financed by China National Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Corporation.

UN: Investment improvement in Ethiopia

As the world economy begins the recovery from a serious recession, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNITED) released its 'World Investment Report 2009' on September 18 at UNECA.
